The  congress, co-organized by Qinghua Zhou of the Chinese Tumor Metastasis Society and Yibin Kang of the Metastasis Research Society  took place from the 16th-20th of September 2016 and made national news in China, including interviews with incoming MRS president, Yibin Kang, and outgoing MRS president, Jonathan Sleeman.
