Invited speaker at 8th Garvan Signalling Symposium 2016

I’m delighted to have been invited to speak at the upcoming 8th Garvan Signalling Symposium being held at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research in Sydney, Australia from 31st October – 1st November.

This is a short two day international symposium focusing on many different aspects of signalling across a wide range of tissues and organisms in both health and disease.

MRS 16th Biennial Congress in Chengdu Makes National News!

I recently attended the MRS 16th Biennial Meeting in China Chengdu, which was a fantastic conference and brought together some of the best cancer metastasis researchers in the world to discuss current and future work in the field.

The  congress, co-organized by Qinghua Zhou of the Chinese Tumor Metastasis Society and Yibin Kang of the Metastasis Research Society  took place from the 16th-20th of September 2016 and made national news in China, including interviews with incoming MRS president, Yibin Kang, and outgoing MRS president, Jonathan Sleeman.

Invited Speaker at 17th Amine Oxidase Conference 2016 #AOC2016

The 17th biennial International Amine Oxidase Conference kicks off today in Birmingham UK. This meeting brings together leading academic and industrial scientists from around the world. The aim, like all scientific conferences, is to provide a platform for exchange of ideas, establishing and strengthening collaborations, and for the networking and education of both PhD students and post-doctoral researchers.

I have been selected to give the young investigator keynote talk at the upcoming Metastasis Research Society (MRS) 15th biennial congress in Heidelberg, Germany June 28th – July 1st 2014

My talk will be titled:

“Fibrosis, Cancer and the Pre-Metastatic Niche:  Implications for Lysyl Oxidase”

and will discuss an overview of my recent published and unpublished work looking at the overlapping role of lysyl oxidase in fibrosis, cancer and the pre-metastatic niche.

I will be giving the AICR (Association for International Cancer Research) sponsored talk at the upcoming Joint TuMIC – Metastasis Research Society – Champalimaud Foundation conference to be held in Lisbon, Portugal, June 25th – 28th 2011.

My talk is titled:

“The Metastatic Microenvironment: Implications for Lysyl Oxidase in Fibrosis-Enhanced Breast Cancer Metastasis”

and will discuss the recent work ongoing from our lab which is investigating how fibrosis and cancer are linked in the metastatic setting.

I have been selected to give the AICR (Association for International Cancer Research) sponsored short talk at the upcoming Beatson International Cancer Conference on ‘Microenvironment, Motility and Metastasis’ to be held in Glasgow from 5th to 8th July 2009.

 My talk is titled:

“A Critical Role For Lysyl Oxidase In Pre-metastatic Niche Formation”

and will discuss the recent work published in Cancer Cell from our lab on the role of tumour secreted Lysyl Oxidase in driving the formation of pre-metastatic niches to enhance cancer metastasis.
